Dementia Coaching
As an INELDA* trained End of Life Doula, I have worked with families who are navigating dementia with their loved ones. I recognize the gift of having support through the ever-changing landscape of this journey.
My role is to offer a consistent, compassionate presence for those with dementia and their loved ones. I meet you where you are and help to support holistic living for each day.
I come alongside those who are experiencing advancing dementia to engage with living at the capacity they are currently holding. And I model and offer new perspectives on your circumstances.
Supports may include:
Coaching of loved ones to process thoughts and feelings
Conversation around life meaning
Legacy and memory projects
Guided imagery
Encouraging engagement & processing
Creative companioning with art, games, music, caring for plants, looking at photos
Family support

Courageous Mornings When Navigating Dementia
Navigating dementia is like hiking on a challenging trail no one has ever taken before.
For those facing advancing dementia, it can be very scary. And for loved ones there's not only uncertainty, but also sadness as a their person changes. But this journey also offers moments of laughter, poignant love and inspiring light. Those on this path often find within themselves strength and patience they never new they had.... Courageous morning after courageous morning.
From 2018-2021 my mother courageously navigated a quickly advancing dementia. My father bravely and faithfully served as her caregiver. I witnessed some very long days - each its own story of laughter, beauty, pain, joy, emotion, and struggles. But they all started with a courageous morning. Conversations change, but they still happen. We can still hold hands. We can still dance. We can still listen. Each moment is fleeting and precious. Dementia teaches us that we can only live in the present moment.
